Architect Journey to Regatta Jakarta
By architectjournal.org on September 22, 2010
As we enter the site, we welcomed by the aroma of the sea air. Regatta the Icon, one of the most prestigious project in Indonesia. Developed by Badan Kerjasama Mutiara Buana (BKMB), a joint venture formed by PT. Intiland Development Tbk and PT Global Ekabuana, Regatta The Icon situated adjacent to north Jakarta’s most prestigious residential district.
Regatta was designed
by list of world-renowned design and engineering, such as WS Atkins, (Dubai’s Burj Al Arab), and Wilson & Associates, one of Singapore’s most innovative interior designers. We can take the directions from northbound Semanggi toll route and turn right by Ancol / Tanjung Priok junction. Alight at Pluit exit, and follow Regatta’s road signs to get to the estate.
Tall ship
Atkins design this site with the tall ship shape, just like a small amount of ships placed in a marina. There are 10 apartment towers soar 24 storeys high with four units on each level, a five-star hotel and an Aqua Park in a complex spawning over 11 hectares of reclaimed land. These are made up of two Ocean View units (type A & B, occupying 243 m2 each) and two Aqua Park View units (type C & D, occupying 206 m2 each).
Lighthouse
These 10 apartments is just like 10 lighthouses if we seen them from the sea.
Compass
The builiding mass fascades meet at every direction of the main city in the world. If we looking to the site plan, it just like a compass direction.
The Construction
Regatta’s construction comprises three phases, the first due for completion in November 2008. This will see the erection of four pioneer apartment towers: Dubai, Monte Carlo, Miami and Rio de Janeiro. The second phase, to be commenced straight after, sees the building of three apartment towers (Tokyo, Acapulco and Sydney) and a 2.4 hectare Aqua Park. Bringing Regatta to a literal full circle will be the final phase, which tops the project off with three more apartment towers (London, New York and Shanghai) as well as a five-star hotel and serviced apartments. It cost arround 300.000,- (in USD) for each of the room. The official site.
